From my pal Don:
Project ideas for engineering students to assist disabled people
"Lydia X. Z. Brown" <lydia@autistichoya.com>: Dec 18 04:47PM -0500
Boston-area folks (specifically Medford/Somerville/Cambridge):
Dr. Janet Krevolin and Dr. Martin Hunter at Tufts University co-teach an
engineering/design class for undergrad students. They are looking for
disabled people/PWD in the area who have everyday struggles that
students
might be able to help address through technological design. Last year,
they
designed improved wheels for a professor's wheelchair to better tread
over
ice and snow, and a device to help him better hold chalk to write on the
board.
If you have ideas about things students could work with you on, and some
time to meet with students in the spring, you can get in contact with
Drs.
Krevolin and Hunter at Janet.Krevolin@tufts.edu and
martin.hunter@tufts.edu
This is not limited to people with mobility-related disabilities.
Please feel free to share.
